Tips to help you stop Bullying

  • Think about what you are doing, why you are doing it and how if affects others now and in the future – put yourself in their shoes and imagine how it must make them feel;
  • Think before you act;
  • Apologise to the people you have bullied and be friendly towards them – eventually they will see that you are genuine;
  • Talk to an adult – if you enjoy making others feel bad or you’re not sure why you do it or if you’re having trouble controlling your feelings and temptation to bully, it can help to talk to an adult you trust so they can help you figure it out. School counsellors are extremely good listeners!
  • If you’re having a hard time feeling good about yourself, explore ways to boost your self-esteem through sports, hobbies or volunteer work;
  • Above all, treat others with respect, the way you would like to be treated.
